I have always had a great amount of compassion for people since I was a child. In 2018 I felt a burden to put myself in a position to become a solution to some of the problems that concern me the most. I began ministering at the age of 19, and I grew up in church. Based on my experiences, I feel like the church has gone astray from it’s original purpose; which is to lead people to Christ, be the light of the world, give back to the community, stand for what is right, etc. There are a few scriptures that made a great impression in my heart pertaining to the church being the light of the world that the Bible speaks of. (1) James 1:27; Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. (2) Proverbs 19:17; If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord and He will repay. There is a plethora of scriptures about the poor, fatherless, and widows, which shows that these individuals are just as important to God as everyone else. In 2018 God gave me the vision for Remnant on the rize, but I did not realize that I am the people that I came to serve. My mother is a widow and I am a fatherless child. The churches that we have been apart of growing up, didn’t have outreaches that serve fatherless children, homeless individuals, and widows. My goal is not to bash the church, but to be apart of the solution. Also, I have been a Chaplin with Incarcerated Youth Ministry since I was 19 years old. Concerning the youth; I believe that the youth need more mentors, not necessarily more discipline. Modeling is the strongest form of teaching.
