The mission of Remnant on the Rize is to serve youth ranging from ages 5 to 18, and parents who
struggle to provide the basic necessities for their children in Detroit Michigan and surrounding urban
cities.
Remnant on the Rize was founded by Sudana Moore in 2018 and has provided food and hygiene
products to over 1000 individuals of our homeless neighbors for the past 5 years. In addition, we
provide weekly life coaching mentorship programs to local youth in need of guidance and lifestyle
support. It is important that the youth have the basic necessities of life to mentor them appropriately.
Parent who would like for their child to participate in our mentorship program can sign up on our
website.
Our programs provide emotional support by offering coaching and mentorship, and enrichment in the
form of art, mentorship, and self-esteem building. Working with groups is a powerful force that creates
space for individuals to discuss issues and matters that concern the heart. Some circumstances will
require 1 on 1 coaching. We meet 2 to 3 times a week with weekly progress reports.
Remnant on the Rize created an innovative technology and t-shirt design program. Through this
program, the youth learn how to create their own designs and wear them with pride. The t-shirts display
positive messages, like a walking billboard. The clothing is also sold on our website which brings
attention to the mission of our organization. The books that Sudana Moore has written and published
are sold on Amazon and www.ontherize.org. A portion of the proceeds from book sales goes towards
our cause. Donations are also accepted on the website.

1 in 5 children and youth in America have a diagnosable emotional, behavioral or mental health
disorder and 1 in 10 young people have a mental health challenge that is severe enough to
impair how they function at home, school or in the community. Studies show that mental health
is not taken serious in schools because, they are not equipped with the time, resources, or
training necessary to give students with signs of mental health issues the unique attention they
deserve. Circumstances associated with family stress, such as persistent poverty, may elevate
the risk of serious mental health problems. Young children who experience recurrent abuse or
chronic neglect, domestic violence, or parental mental health or substance abuse problems are
particularly vulnerable. Remnant on the rize is turning this research into action to improve the
lives of students through our coaching and mentorship program.
